By visiting their official page www.passportindia.gov.in , you can now request renewal of Indian passport. You are required to submit an online form after which the whole process takes place.
Following are the steps to submit online passport renewal form:
#1. Visit official website of Passport Seva and look out for “register now” link. You will have to register to start with the process. Make sure you click on the correct link.
#2. After registering, you are required to login to the Passport Seva Online Portal using your registered ID.

Online Payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at all Passport Seva Kendras/Passport Offices. And to request renewal of Indian Passport, payment can be made using Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa), Internet Banking (State Bank of India (SBI) and Associate Banks Only) or SBI Bank Challan.

#6. Next, you should click on the “Print Application Receipt” link to print the application receipt containing Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number as per your Indian Passport Renewal Form.
#7. Visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK)/Regional Passport Office (RPO) where your appointment has been booked. Carry your original documents with you.
