#1. H-1B (Speciality Occupation)
H-1B Visa is granted by employers of US to foreign workers. The employer needs to file a labour condition application describing the terms of contract and submit it to Department of Labour. To qualify under this type of US work visa, one must hold bachelor’s or higher degree to seek employment in the same field. USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) then assess whether you are truly qualified for the job and further to get visa approval.
#2. H-3 (Trainee)
H-3 Visa is suitable for candidates who want to receive training from an employer of US. This training can be in any field of industry for upto two years. Graduate education or training won’t be qualified under this type of visa to USA. Candidates or trainees can be paid for during this time and active participation in the work is allowed. This training should not be available in your home country.

#3. L-1 (Intra Company Transferees)
An employee of an international company can be transferred temporarily to a parent branch, affiliate or sister-company in the United States. This international company can be either a U.S. or foreign Organization. USCIS approval is needed to apply for L-1 visa that grants you temporary US work permit. To qualify under this, one must be at the managerial level, executive level or have specialized knowledge. Though the position offered might not be the same within US company. In addition to this, applicant must have at least one year of working experience with the same company.
#4. O (Extraordinary Abilities)
One can be granted US work visa on the basis of extraordinary capabilities in different areas of arts, sciences, education, sports, business or possess accolades.
#5. P (Artists/Entertainers)
Athletics, Artist or Entertainers coming to US to perform. P visa takes quite a long time to process. P-visa holders are only given US work permit according to the duration of that specific event.
#6. Q (Participation in International Event)
Q visa is granted to applicants whose purpose to enter the United States is to participate in a cultural program only to provide training, employment, culture or traditions of his/her own country. USCIS approves of a petition filed by the candidate on the behalf of event sponsor after which they granted visa to USA.
